All About Yohji Yamamoto
In the early 1980s, fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto overturned the traditions and aesthetics of the Paris fashion world and has continued to transform it ever since. The magazines High Fashion, Mr. High Fashion, and So-en recognized his talent as early as the late 1960s, when he was still a student at Bunka Fashion College, and began covering him then.
This book is a newly edited compilation of Yamamoto features published across these three magazines. It includes exclusive articles and original fashion visuals, covering 30 years of both menswear and womenswear collection looksāfrom his groundbreaking Paris debut in 1981 to epoch-making shows such as ā6.1 THE MENā in 1991. It also introduces his student-era works and an interview from his first year after graduation. Additionally, the book features an in-depth, up-to-date interview in which he speaks candidly about his current creative approach and his thoughts on society.
